Basketball fever is in full effect! It is almost impossible to go somewhere and not hear people talking about the latest game or see it on TV. In our office, brackets are always the topic of the day. We love having friends over to watch sporting events to a few of the basketball games is another great reason for a sports related party in our basement! Of course, no party is complete without party food. My latest addition to the game day spread are hot and spicy cheese meatballs.

General Tso’s Wonton Cups

January 26, 2015 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

Game day is coming! Just think: we are less than one week away from the BIG game. I’ve been looking over my list of 100+ foods ideas and even the Whole30 friendly football appetizers for the past few days. Of course, I know that wings are a must at our party no matter what else I am making. In addition to regular wings, I also plan to make General Tso’s wonton cups too using frozen boneless chicken wings.

January 13, 2015 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

I’ve talked a lot here and on social media about my adventure doing Whole30 this month (I even had a friend share her words of wisdom!). I started on January 5th without thinking about how that might impact our Super Bowl plans though. I’ll still be finishing up Whole30 when we host our Super Bowl party which means I need some Whole30 Super Bowl recipes to make so I can actually eat! Just in case you are in the same boat, or maybe just want some healthier options at your party, I’ve gathered up 13 recipes that are Whole30 compliant and perfect for game day!

Double Chocolate SNICKERS Brownies

January 12, 2015 By Shannah Coe 15 Comments

Every year, after we’ve recovered from the holidays, Mathlete and I start talking about what our next social event is going to be. Sure, my birthday is in early February but we usually like to have a low-key get together at our house before then. The logical choice is a party to watch the Big Game since a) we love football and b) it is the first major social event of the year. He  is in charge of TV stuff and I am in charge of food. Because everyone is so interested in the plays being made on the field, it can be hard for the food to get much attention. So, I wanted to wow everyone with some delicious food and started off with double chocolate SNICKERS® brownies.

The cheers for these brownies might be louder than the cheers for the big game this year! Double chocolate snickers brownies are sure to be a winner!

Slow Cooker Beef Bacon Chili

December 24, 2014 By Shannah Coe 3 Comments

Warm up with a comforting bowl of chili on a cold day. Slow Cooker Beef Bacon Chili is the best recipe to let cook while you work! The perfect crockpot chili for game day too!

After a day commuting out in the cold {or even watching it from the window inside my house}, I want something warm and comforting. Of course, Christmas is approaching so it isn’t like I have a ton of extra time to spend in the kitchen. That is where my recipe for Slow Cooker Beef Bacon Chili comes in.

Oh, I love using my slow cooker on cold days. This Slow Cooker Beef Bacon Chili sounds amazing.

Easy Apricot Meatballs

November 25, 2014 By Shannah Coe 2 Comments

Hosting events during the holidays {or any time} can really be stressful. There is the menu planning, guest counts and so many other things to think about. Finding a few items that you can use instead of having to make everything from scratch can be a true game changer. My favorite “holiday hack” is using premade meatballs and then dressing them up with a delicious sauce to totally transform them into the perfect party snack. A recipe that is always a hit at parties is my easy apricot meatballs.

Easy apricot meatballs are the perfect party snack! With a hint of spice mixed in with the sweet sauce, they will have everyone commenting how delicious they taste.

New Pizza Favorites – Make Your Pizza Your Own

February 17, 2014 By Shannah Coe 9 Comments

Collective Bias Disclosure

Between the holidays and then gearing up for major Football games in January and February, March can seem pretty sparse when it comes to activities.  Unless, of course, you are a basketball fan!  I don’t watch much basketball at all but love a good reason to invite friends over to hang out and a sports game is always a good one.  With time being at a premium these days though, I don’t go all out with a full spread and tend to stick to things like pizza and chips with dip.  Of course, that doesn’t mean, I just typically flop any old pizza on a plate and go with it.  Nope, I find some #NewFavorites, like flavors DiGiorno just introduced, and make them even more delicious with a few extra touches.

Cheesy Crab Artichoke Dip

February 27, 2013 By Shannah 10 Comments

One of my favorite restaurant “treats” is crab artichoke dip.  I love how cheesy and delicious it is.  With two kids at our dinner table, we rarely get to the appetizer portion of a meal though and tend to go straight for the main deal.  So, I decided to make some at home to curb my recent craving.
