Loaded Fajita Dip

August 3, 2018 By Shannah Coe 6 Comments

Loaded Fajita Dip is the perfect appetizer for your next tailgate or party! Simply grab some chips or vegetables and get dipping into this amazing dip filled with all the flavors of fajitas with almost none of the work.

Every party needs a good dip (or two). I like ones that are simple to make but work perfectly with a variety of dipper options like this loaded fajita dip.

Raspberry Crumb Bars

May 1, 2016 By Shannah Coe 13 Comments

Raspberry Crumb Bars are an amazing dessert that you have try out! These raspberry bars are perfect, because they’re not too sweet and have a delicious fruit layer that goes great with the butter crumbs on top! Your kids will love giving you a hand to make these easy Raspberry Crumb Bars!

My daughter has recently gotten really excited about being the kitchen! It makes me so happy that she is developing a love of cooking and baking and that it is something we can do together. Of course, she much prefers baking to cooking so our most recent recipe was for Raspberry Crumb Bars.

Triple Cheese Kale Dip Challenge

April 9, 2015 By Shannah Coe 3 Comments

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #showmetheshine #CollectiveBias

We love hosting parties or just having people over to hang out at the last minute on a weekend. Whenever I have people coming over, I like to have at least a few snacks for them to eat while we talk or watch tv. One of the easiest things to serve is dip with either bread or chips. My newest favorite is triple cheese kale dip because, well, it has three cheeses in it. You can totally call it just kale dip though to make yourself think you are eating vegetables!

A Clean Kitchen is a Happy Kitchen

December 17, 2014 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

This post brought to you by Meister Cleaners. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Just Us Four.

Last year, we made the decision to upgrade our appliances and add some stainless steel to the mix. Since I have two young kids (7 and 4) and do a ton of cooking and baking in the kitchen, I was a little worried about they would work out. My dark counter tops constantly need to be wiped down to avoid looking messy and I wanted to avoid that with my appliances. I took the leap though and do love the appliances. I don’t love seeing fingerprints or food smudges on it though which, with kids and a busy kitchen, is just inevitable. You can totally see what I mean

We even find a way to get fingerprints and grime on the ice dispenser.

Brushing to the Music

August 21, 2014 By Shannah Coe 11 Comments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf Tooth Tunes.

We love music in our house. If the iPad isn’t playing on our playlists, H is usually singing a random song she has made up in her head. Even E loves to play with all kinds of musical toys or dance around the family room when music is playing. We use music to get them interested in activities all the times because it seems to work so well. That is the idea behind one of my favorite new things in our house: Tooth Tunes.

Five Foods and Drinks that Stain Your Teeth and Some Solutions

August 11, 2014 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Around here, we are always trying out recipes for new foods or drinks. I love creating new recipes that my family loves and that taste delicious too. We all know that what we eat and drink impacts our lives but I often forget how it impacts things like my teeth!

There are a few items that have the biggest impact on teeth when it comes to food and drinks. Five big culprits are

  • Red Wine {think red wine slushies!}
  • Blueberries {Berry layer cake}
  • Tomato Sauce {like on my Chicken Parmesan Burgers}
  • Soy Sauce {Hoisin Pork with Snow Peas has plenty of that!}
  • Tea

Many of those items are things you just can’t escape in cooking. Plus, they taste so good! So, I decided to try and find ways to help reduce the impact those foods and drinks have on how radiant my teeth look.

A Food Blogger’s Battle

July 15, 2014 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hot Shot® Insecticides.

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. If I am not cooking dinner for my family or creating recipes to share here, I am chasing around my kids during their multiple snack times throughout the day. All of those things lead to one major battle: keeping food off the floor and our house free of ants. My oldest is 6 and does a pretty good job of keeping most of her snack on the plate. My youngest, though, things that all food should end up on the floor at some point.

Think I am kidding? Check out what our floor looks like after pretty much any snack…these were the items he thought were meant for throwing and then promptly stepped on. Blueberry juice and crushed Pirate Booty for the win!

Keeping Smiles Bright

June 26, 2014 By Shannah Coe 21 Comments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Orajel Kids.

I had some crazy teeth as a child. Extra teeth, gaps and just a whole lot of crazy stuff going on in my mouth. {Don’t worry…I’ll save you from the horror and NOT share any of those photos.} Despite all the craziness and constant trips to the dentist and orthodontist, my mom was adamant that I would not get cavities and would brush what felt like a gazillion times a day.
Now, that I have kids of my own, I totally get why my mom focused so much on keeping my mouth spit spot as Mary Poppins would say. Seeing my kids smile is one of the ultimate rewards of parenting and I want to do everything I can to help them keep that smile healthy.

Teriyaki Chicken Kabobs and Sticky Finger Solutions

April 14, 2014 By Shannah Coe 13 Comments

Once the weather turns warm, I pretty much rely on our grill to cook all of our food.  There is literally nothing like enjoying a nice evening on the deck with a delicious meal from the BBQ.  Of course, a lot of those meals leave super messy hands behind after the stomachs are long full.  I like to keep a supplies on hand to make it easy to eat outside and clean up while we are there too.  I toss a few necessities into a little metal tub and it becomes our summer dinner “emergency kit.”
