Frequently Asked Questions for Roasted Salted Pecans

Is it best to use raw or pre-roasted pecans? I highly recommend using raw pecans. If you use pre-roasted pecans there is a chance they may burn while you are roasting them again.

Can I use salted butter in place of the salted butter? Yes, you can! I do recommend tasting the pecans and potentially adjusting the salt if you do use salted butter. You definitely do not want to have your pecans be too salty.

How will you know when the pecans are done roasting? The pecans will be slightly darker and fragrant. Remove them at that point and they will continue to get crispy as they cool on the baking sheet.

Can roasted salted pecans be made in advance? You can keep them at room temperature in a dish or a loosely sealed jar or bag. You can also rewarm them by placing them on a lined baking sheet and bake them at 300°F for about 5 minutes.

Can I freeze roasted pecans? Yes. Transfer cooled pecans to a freezer safe bag or container and freeze for up to six months.
