Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls

November 21, 2016 By Shannah Coe 16 Comments

There is no need to worry about how to make a pecan pie when you can have these Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls instead! They take a super tasty pecan pie filling and roll it up in simple crescent dough for a simple and easy dessert for any holiday!

One of our major traditions is hosting an annual holiday party each year in December. I made TONS of food and we invite all of our friends and family over to spend time together and relax. I used to make mini pecan pies but they were a lot of work. Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls

Even making an easy pecan pie, along with  some of my more traditional favorites, just doesn’t  make much sense for our party Instead,  I can translate the flavors into a party perfect dish like Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls.

Last week, I was with our Girl Scout troop at the food pantry and talking with some of the other moms while the girls sorted food. The discussion turned to Thanksgiving and other holiday meals and we were all listing our favorite dishes.

During that conversation, it stuck me how much of a traditionalist I have become, especially since having children. All of the dishes that topped my list of holiday favorites were “traditional” items like roasted turkey, green bean casserole and pecan pie.

And the activities I enjoy most and look forward to the most each year always involve family and are ones that we have done since I was a child like decorating the tree while listening to music or making loads of sweets throughout the month of December.

While I am totally a traditionalist in so many ways, a lot of my traditional foods aren’t great for entertaining. These Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls are absolutely perfect for our party and would also be great as a substitute to the traditional pecan pie. I’m terrible at making pie crust and always worry about how to make a pecan pie correctly.

So, using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls instead of a pie crust makes this recipe so much easier. Plus, you won’t even need a fork to eat these delicious items but still get all the flavor of yummy pecan pie filling.

I can definitely picture my mom and Mathlete’s mom enjoying these while we open presents or with a cup of tea after preparing for the big holiday meal.

Those little moments, in between the hustle and bustle of the holidays, are what I treasure most. It is definitely when the best memories are made and, in my world, memories typically involve some type of delicious food.

Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls Dessert

These easy pecan pie crescent rolls have all the flavor of a traditional pecan pie {it even uses the exactly pecan pie filling recipe that my grandmother has used forever!} but without the stress of making the perfect pie crust.

Easy Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls

I definitely see these quickly becoming an annual tradition in our house for the holidays. Mathlete ate an entire batch in just two days when I was first made these to test out the recipe. Since he is not a big sweets guys, that is the sign of a really delicious dessert.

Tasty Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls

As we prepare for Thanksgiving this Thursday quickly followed by the rest of the holiday season, I am definitely taking time to reflect on all of the things we have done over the year and take the time to really enjoy the company of my family.

I know my memories of all of us gathered around the table for a meal or hanging on the couch after we’ve all eaten the delicious food are what this time of year is really about. Traditions are so important and, as my children get older, I definitely try to help them understand why we do each little thing that we do so that they will hopefully hold onto some of the same traditions when they are older.

Just the smell of these pecan pie crescent rolls takes me back to when I was a young child and my grandparents would come over super early on Christmas morning. My grandfather would play jingle bells on our doorbell to wake everyone up.

Even though I’d probably been awake for hours in anticipation of Santa, I had to pretend to be asleep until my grandmother came in a woke me up. While my dad doesn’t play jingle bells on the doorbell, my mom always wakes my kids up on Christmas morning just as my grandmother did for me.

Just curious. It says 6 servings? Do you only fill 6 rolls from the can? or all twelve and one serving is two ‘pies’?
    thanks.

This was a delicious mess. There was intirely too much filling and yes, I went by the recipe precisely. It oozed all over the parchment. So, I ended up with the rolls and a good amount of pecan toffee.
