The best thing about this firecrackers recipe is that there is no baking required! You just grab your ingredients and combine them. You can eat them right away but I like to let them sit for a few hours so the flavors really meld together.

  • Oil – I use avocado oil but olive oil works great too. I’ve also known people to use vegetable oil which works fine but I don’t enjoy the taste as much.
  • Seasonings – Ranch seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, and paprika.
  • Saltine Crackers – You can use regular, wheat, or the mini saltine crackers.

This recipe is an oldie, but a goodie The crackers take on the oil and seasonings to perfection, as the crackers become less crunchy and more crumbly. They are totally addictive. They are perfect for your favorite dip. The saltiness and spice from the red pepper flakes is the perfect combo.

During the holidays, I like to make batches of these spicy salt crackers using the mini Saltines and package them up to use as hostess gifts for the parties we attend. Be sure to include the recipe though because everyone will ask once they try one!

Cooks Note: While these are so delicious as a no bake fire cracker, if you want them to be a little crispier after mixing with the oil and spices, you can spread them on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes at 300 degrees.
