For these lettuce wraps, juicy ground beef is sautéed with garlic, ginger, and onions, then seasoned with soy sauce, hoisin, and a touch of sesame oil for a rich umami taste. Crunchy peanuts and fresh green onions add texture, while crisp lettuce leaves serve as a refreshing, low-carb wrap.

Ingredients for Ground Meat Lettuce Wraps

- Ground Meat – This recipe is written using ground beef. You can substitute ground chicken or turkey in its place.
- Olive Oil – Depending on the fat content of your ground beef, this may be optional. If you are using ground turkey or chicken, you will definitely need to include the oil.
- Aromatics – Onion, Garlic, and Fresh Ginger
- Soy Sauce – You can substitute tamari or coconut aminos here.
- Hoisin Sauce
- Rice Vinegar
- Sesame Oil
- Peanuts – I recommend toasting the peanuts for an extra nutty taste and to make them a little crunchier. It is totally optional though.
- Green Onions
- Butter Lettuce or Lettuce Wraps
- Optional Ingredients – Lime Wedges, Sesame Seeds, and Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

These lettuce wraps are great the next day too. I usually pack the filling in a container for my husband’s lunch and send the lettuce separately. The flavor deepens in the filling as it sits overnight making it perfect for a make ahead meal too. A little squeeze of lime also tastes amazing and adds some acidity to the dish.
