Wasabi Ginger Soy Tuna Crisps

November 28, 2016 By Shannah Coe 135 Comments

During the holiday season, we do a ton of entertaining. Each year, we host a huge Christmas party where all our friends and some family members get to spend time together during the busy holiday season. Of course, as with most parties, the food is a major piece of the party and I like to go all out with lots of different delicious items on the food table that capture all our varied food preferences. One of my favorites this year is an Asian-inspired recipe: wasabi ginger soy tuna crisps.

Ten Minute Easy Glazed Nut Mix

November 8, 2016 By Shannah Coe 2 Comments

One of our favorite things about fall is going to the local fall festivals. From kettle corn to candied apples, it is just so much fun enjoying all the delicious food in between hay rides and corn mazes. One of my favorites is the glazed nut mix you can get at all of the fall festivals. Of course, I had to come home and make my own so we can continue to enjoy the tastes of fall at home. {Psst…this makes an AWESOME homemade gift idea too and the holidays are coming fast!}

Mixed Berry Basil Smoothie

September 12, 2016 By Shannah Coe 4 Comments

Now that school has started, our afternoons and evenings are extremely hectic. The kids spend all day at school and come home with homework, plans for play dates and, of course, after school activities. Before they get to any of that though, I always hear “I’m hungry!” It is so tempting to let them grab whatever chips they want and move along. Instead, I try to encourage them to make wiser choices and frequently pair a CLIF Kid ZbarĀ® with a mixed berry basil smoothie.

I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that school starts in just a few short weeks. I’ve been working my way through the school supply list which has me running all over town getting the exact right items from the list. Thankfully, as I plan for back to school lunches, I know I can simply stop at Giant Eagle to get all the items I need to make delicious lunch items like peanut butter and fruit kabobs!

Fruity Pebbles No Bake Cheesecake Bars

Birthday party season is here which means tons of sweets and little treats for our household. My kids recently discovered Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles and they want to eat the cereal all times of the day. Even though Fruity Pebbles cereal has been around since 1970, the marshmallow version is new and quickly becoming popular. My kids love it so I decided to make a yummy treat for them using the cereal. It is still so hot outside though so I didn’t want to turn on the oven. Instead, I made no bake cheesecake bars.

Perfect Sweet Snacks on the Go

May 16, 2016 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

I spend a lot of time on the go. With my daughter in gymnastics for 9 hours a week, plus an hour of dance and then all my commuting to the office, I am gone a lot. I have a HUGE sweet tooth so I like to have sweet snacks on the go to satisfy my sweet tooth. I know finding great snacks that are also perfectly sweet can be a difficult task so I am sharing some perfect sweet snacks for on the go.

Gluten Free No Bake Granola Bars

March 14, 2016 By Shannah Coe 3 Comments

This post was sponsored by Honey Bunches of Oats Chocolate as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.

Do you love snack bars? We’re huge fans and like to have a variety of different types around the house. Recently, though, I started making my own because it allowed me to control the ingredients that went into them and really customize them to what my family likes. These gluten free no bake granola bars are my most recent attempt and they are my favorite ones to date.

Taco Ranch Popcorn for Pizza Night

March 9, 2016 By Shannah Coe 4 Comments

For years, we’ve done movie nights on Fridays. It is the best way to end the week. Of course, there are three Ps that are necessary for a successful movie night: plot, pizza and popcorn (dark chocolate sea salt is a sweet favorite). For our most recent movie night, I created taco ranch popcorn for the perfect hit of spice and a little change from our usual movie theater butter version.

Mini Chocolate Waffle and Fruit Bites

January 19, 2016 By Shannah Coe 11 Comments

My kids are not breakfast eaters. Or any meal really. They are snackers and getting them to really sit down for an actual meal can be difficult. I try to get them interested with foods that seem like snacks but are actually going to fill them up. One morning I made mini chocolate waffle and fruit bites and they were a hit. They’ve become a favorite breakfast item and we make them at snack time too.
