I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that school starts in just a few short weeks. I’ve been working my way through the school supply list which has me running all over town getting the exact right items from the list. Thankfully, as I plan for back to school lunches, I know I can simply stop at Giant Eagle to get all the items I need to make delicious lunch items like peanut butter and fruit kabobs!

Peanut Butter and Fruit Kabobs

Giant Eagle has everything I need for back to school lunches and snacks. It is my one stop shop for everything from Capri Sun to JIF Peanut Butter to Snack Packs. I picked up some staples for our back to school lunches and snacks recently so I know I will be ready when the first day of school rolls around.

My kids aren’t big sandwich fans typically so I like to make the one type they will eat a little more fun! I simply cut the sandwich into pieces and then create a kabob with it!

Ingredients for Peanut Butter and Fruit Kabobs:

3 Tbsp JIF Peanut Butter
2 Tbsp Smuckers Fruit Spread
2 pieces sandwich bread
2 strawberries, stems removed
Bamboo or lollipop sticks

Let’s Make It:

1. Lightly toast both pieces of bread. Let cool.

2. Spread one piece with peanut butter. Top with fruit spread. Add second piece of bread on top. Cut into small squares.

3. Alternating with the strawberries, thread the sandwich pieces onto the lollipop or bamboo stick. Add to lunch box.

You could easily do this with just about any type of sandwich. My kids just love peanut butter and strawberry fruit spread so I usually make them with those ingredients. Oh, and we use lollipop sticks because the bamboo ones have a sharp point which the school tends to get upset about. Do what works best for your lunchbox and school!
