Halloween Snacks: Monster Cookie Dip

Monster cookie dip is an easy cookie dough inspired dip that adds in all kinds of extra fun for Halloween! Try it for your Halloween party this year.

Even if you aren’t the dress up for Halloween type, a little party to celebrate the day can be fun. And, of course, every party needs good food and that starts with easy to make dessert dips like this monster cookie dip!

So, Halloween is this week. Eek! Are you like me and still planning out all the details of the day/night? We have our costumes but our annual pre-trick or treat dinner is still really up in the air. We invite a bunch of friends, with their kids, over to enjoy dinner before we go raid the neighborhood collecting candy. I love it but I am seriously stressed this year because my menu hasn’t fully taken shape. Thankfully, I have a few Halloween party food go tos I can rely on like monster cookie dip.

This dip starts out like a cookie dough dip {inspired by this one} but then gets all kinds of yummy additions added into to make it extra yummy and perfect for Halloween!

  • Butter – I usually use unsalted but, if you have salted on hand, that will work too.
  • Light Brown Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Cream Cheese
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Mix-ins – You can get create here but I used mini M&Ms, mini chocolate chips, and little candy monster eyes.

  1. Melt the butter and brown sugar together. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove from the heat and let sit until cooled.
  2. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together. Add in the cooled butter mixture.
  3. Fold in the mix-ins. Refrigerate.
  4. Top with remaining monster eyes before serving.

I plan to serve this dip on Friday with a side of Wheat Thins and Halloween Oreos. Um, Oreos dipped in cookie dip is hands down amazing. Seriously…try it and you can thank me later.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup mini M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup candy monster eyes divided

Instructions

  • Add the butter and brown sugar to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and let stand until room temperature.
    1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1/3 cup light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Slowly add in the cooled butter mixture letting each addition fully incorporate before adding more. Let the mixer run for about 1 minutes.
    8 ounces cream cheese, 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Fold in the mini chocolate chips, mini M&Ms and 1/2 of the candy monster eyes. Transfer to bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Before serving, add remaining monster eyes to the top of the dip.
