Grapefruit Prosecco Smash

September 5, 2017 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

A Grapefruit Prosecco Smash is a delicious, clean tasting cocktail that is perfect for any party or as a quick drink before going out! This grapefruit prosecco is an easy 4 ingredient drink that only takes 5 minutes to make! Grab your cocktail shaker now!

Over the long weekend, I had a few friends over to help me taste test some upcoming recipes and cocktails. It was loads of fun and I am already mentally planning another one because I loved getting the feedback.

One of the resulting cocktails from our taste tests is this grapefruit prosecco smash and I have to tell you…it is quite possibly my favorite cocktail ever (well, maybe a close second to my wine slushies).

During our taste tests, we tried this drink three different ways and below you will get the winner! One note: if you prefer a lighter grapefruit taste, go with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice over what I use. My testers said that version was still delicious but just wasn’t quite as strong with the grapefruit flavors.

Ingredients for Grapefruit Prosecco Smash:

5 oz Grapefruit Juice (I used Simply Grapefruit)
3 oz Vodka (I used potato vodka but regular works great too)
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
4 oz Prosecco
Lime wedges

Let’s Make It:

In a cocktail shaker, combine grapefruit juice, vodka and simple syrup. Shake and pour over ice. Add prosecco and lime wedges. Enjoy!

The recipe above is obviously for one drink but you could easily make this in a pitcher for a crowd. Just combine the grapefruit juice, vodka, simple syrup and limes in the pitcher. Then, pour over ice and top off with prosecco when you are ready. I wouldn’t recommend adding the prosecco in advance because it would lose the fizz.

What are some of your favorite cocktails? Do you love trying new ones when out at a bar or party? I am super excited to serve this one at our next party! I already know at least 4 friends who will love it based on the feedback I got over the weekend.
