Top Gifts for Girls

August 18, 2014 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

This morning, I shared all the details of H’s 7th birthday party. She chose a My Little Pony theme and she had a blast at her sleepover. I got a lot of questions as the party neared about what kinds of things she likes and what would make good gifts. I know I often struggle with the same questions so I thought I would share with you all what are considered the top gifts for girls in our household. {This post may contain affiliate links}

Great gift ideas for young girls around age 7.

I should preface this list by saying that, obviously, these are what our 7  year old loves and not necessarily universal. BUT, almost all of her friends love these things too so I figured it is pretty wide reaching.

doh-vinci-vanity

We got the opportunity to try out a few of the DohVinci items and she loves them! I love that it inspires creativity in her. We had so much fun decorating her vanity that she begged to give DohVinci in her favor bags for the parties. We bought the Deluxe Styler for the girls to take home.

monster-high-doll

Monster High dolls are all the rage here. The girls always want to watch the movies, listen to the songs and play with the dolls. This year, Draculaura was the doll most requested.

Another must have were the My Little Pony Equestria Dolls. I gave H two of them, Pinky Pie and DJ Pon, and she was over the moon. She loved decorating Pinky Pie’s skirt and we’ve played with them every day since we got them.

Now, we already had an American Girl doll from our trip to New York in December. But, I am adding it here because I know all of the girls were totally in love with H’s doll. I’ve heard from a lot of the moms that their daughters have been begging for them recently. They are a little on the pricey side so maybe start saving now for Christmas time.

Still within the American Girl realm but way less expensive are the pets. H specifically requested the Himalayan Kittie and the Corgie puppy. They are pretty cute and come with magnets in their mouth that let them carry around their fish/bone. The best part is that you can totally just get the pet even if you don’t have a doll!

And of course, since we have a doll, there were lots of requests for clothes. H is really into gymnastics right now so she requested the gymnastics outfit. They have tons of outfits to match whatever sport/activity your child might be into as well.

So, that is what the main toys in our house are right now! She was so excited and grateful for all of the toys and gifts she received so a big thank you to our friends and family. I hope these gift ideas help you in case you have a birthday coming up or need some ideas for Christmas {it will be here sooner than we realize}!
