A Glimpse: H’s 7th Birthday Party

August 18, 2014 By Shannah Coe 1 Comment

Every August, our world goes from busy to full on crazy. My kids have birthdays that are two days apart which makes party planning a little challenging. I always try to have them in the same weekend because I am insane so that my parents can attend without having to travel back and forth several weekends in a row. Typically H’s party is on Saturday evening at our local pool and E’s is the following morning at home. Well, that all changed this year with our My Little Pony sleepover.

Love the idea of a low key My Little Pony sleepover!

Yes…I said sleepover! The local pool was booked for a neighborhood event on the date of the party so H decided she would rather have a sleepover instead of moving the party to another time/date. If you follow me on Instagram, you got a sneak peak of the fun that was happening at the party…complete with a dance party!

The party was pretty low key with a few major highlights. We had pizza from Costco and a fun snack table that included a ton of My Little Pony decorations from Shindigz party supplies. We used balloons, hanging decorations and other items to transform our basement into a mini-Equestria.

The girls all love My Little Pony and my daughter is a HUGE fan. So, I was super excited the two My Little Pony Equestria Girls dolls that H was getting for her birthday. The dolls are so super cute and come with fun little additions like sun glasses and clothes kids can decorate with the included markers. H started asking to decorate Pinky Pie’s skirt immediately.

The sleepover concluded early the next morning so we could all make it to the bounce house place for E’s birthday. We handing out super cute goodie bags to all the girls with H’s other favorite new toy: DohVinci! I was introduced to DohVinci at Snap Conference this year and I was so excited to see H play with it. She has had so much fun putting the little tubes into the styler and decorating things using the dough. It hardens in 24 hours so the decorations stay put. I hope all the little girls who came to the sleepover love it as much as H does. The favor bags also included a super cute mirrored compact and stick on earrings for the girls.

In case you want to throw your own My Little Pony party, here are where I purchased all of my items (*may contain affiliate links):
Invitations and Printables: Swish Printables
Room decorations, plates, cups, etc: Shindigz party supplies and Target
My Little Pony Equestria Dolls: c/o Hasbro and can be purchased at retailers such as Target, Toys R Us and Walmart
Favor Bag Items: Shindigz Party Supplies and c/o Hasbro
Cupcakes: Harris Teeter

Thanks for Hasbro and Shindigz Party Supplies for partnering with me to help make this 7th birthday party amazing. As always, even though I may have received compensation in the form of products, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
