I am not usually a huge fan of salmon but my husband loves it so I am always looking for salmon recipes that we can both enjoy. This one definitely fits all the requirements for both of us and is made on repeat.
Ingredients for Honey Garlic Salmon:

- Salmon Filets – Look for salmon with bright, vibrant flesh, and a mild “sea” smell. Avoid any dullness or strong fishy odors.
- Lemon juice – Fresh lemon juice provides the brightest flavor but you can use bottled if that is all you available.
- Garlic – Use fresh garlic cloves for the best results.
- Honey – Honey provides a mild sweetness to the dish.
- Soy sauce – Substitute tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten free dish.
- Parsley – Fresh herbs pair well with fish dishes.
- Salt and Pepper – Use sea salt and fresh ground black pepper.
- Red pepper flakes – Crushed red pepper adds a mild spice to the dish. If you are sensitive to spice, you can leave this out.

This honey garlic salmon is quick and easy to make. The dish bakes in the oven and requires minimal prep work making it one of the best weeknight salmon dinner ideas. For a deeper flavor, you can marinate the salmon for 15-30 minutes before baking in half the sauce mixture.

What to Serve with Honey Glazed Salmon:
- Green beans – This recipe calls for green beans that are steamed while the salmon bakes.
- Broccoli – Roasted broccoli would be a great option for pairing with this salmon.
- Lo Mien or Fried Rice – The honey garlic sauce used for the salmon would pair well with lo mien or fried rice.
- Green Salad – Toss together your favorite salad and serve it alongside the salmon.
- Vegetable Salad – An Asian inspired cucumber salad would be delicious with this recipe.

Garlic Honey Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 salmon filets about 7 ounces each
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tablespoons pure honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
For Serving
- 8 ounces green beans steamed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut two pieces of foil the same size as the baking tray you’ll be using and cover the tray with one of them. Arrange the salmon filets, skin-side down, on the foil-lined baking sheet.4 salmon filets
- In a medium bowl, combine the minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, pepper, salt, and olive oil.¼ cup lemon juice, 3 garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons pure honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon sea salt, ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Brush the the lemon juice mixture all over the salmon filets, including tops and sides of them. Fold the foil around salmon filets and then, arrange the second piece of foil over them ensuring it is closed tightly.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil from the top, and set the oven to broil. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve with the steamed green beans on the side.8 ounces green beans
Notes
- For maximum flavor and the best texture, look for salmon with bright, vibrant flesh, and a mild “sea” smell. Avoid any dullness or strong fishy odors.
- Skin-on or skinless? This recipe works well with both. Cooking skin-on helps keep the salmon moist, but skinless is easier to eat and provides a cleaner flavor profile.
- Salmon can dry out quickly. The 15 minutes of baking and 2 minutes broiling are a guideline. Check for doneness by flaking with a fork in the thickest part. It should flake easily and be slightly opaque in the center.
- Instead of brushing the mixture on directly, marinate the salmon for 15-30 minutes in half the mixture (reserve the rest for basting during cooking). This adds deeper flavor.
