Say Yes to Capri Sun and Caramel Apple Donut Fries

Kraft-Heinz sponsored this post, but the opinions are my own.

Our day of yes was inspired by the Capri Sun Refreshers available at Walmart. They are a blend of fruit juice and filtered water mix of  juice and filtered water making saying “yes” to my kids enjoying them super easy. There are no artificial colors, preservatives, or flavors and they have no added sugar either. Plus, it takes away the mixing that I was already doing with their juice. Finding them our local Walmart was simple too. Our current favorite is the Capri Sun Refreshers Awesomely Apple.

As a parent, I often have to say “no” a ton when it comes to my kids. They frequently want to do things that don’t work in our schedule, I don’t think are a great idea or just can’t happen for some reason or another. But, while my husband has been away, I’ve had to tell my daughter no more times that I like just because I was solo parenting both kids and working so I just couldn’t make things happen. To reward her for being so amazing during that time, I decided we would have a day of yes which included eating caramel apple donut fries for dinner.

Caramel Apple Donut Fries

We started our day of yes with a little make up fun (she isn’t allowed to wear it except for play) and then finished it by making caramel apple donut fries which we decided to eat for dinner.

Ingredients for Caramel Apple Donut Fries:

1 can refrigerated biscuits
2 cups vegetable oil
2 cups powdered sugar
1-2 Tbsp apple cider
1 Tbsp caramel syrup
Optional:
Toffee Bits
Cinnamon Sugar

Let’s Make It:

1. In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat.

2. Flatten biscuits and cut into strips. Once oil is hot, place 2-3 strips in and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to paper towel lined plate.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and apple cider. Spoon over cooked donuts. Then, drizzle with caramel syrup and top with toffee bits and/or cinnamon sugar if using.

These caramel apple donut fries were amazing and served as the perfect ending to our day of Yes! Of course, we enjoyed them with our Capri Sun Refreshers in Awesomely Apple.

What are some ways you to say yes to your kids more often? One thing you can definitely feel good about saying yes to is a Capri Sun Refresher since it is a delicious blend of fruit juice and filtered water mix of  juice and  filtered water.

The kids would love to help with these (and we love Capri Suns in our family…have saved the day many times).
