Washi Tape Serving Trays

June 3, 2013 By Shannah 14 Comments

Summer in my house means lots of BBQs and lots of visitors.  That means LOTS of serving trays come out so I am always on the look out for some cute ones.  I found some plain ones at target and dressed up the serving trays with some washi tape.

Target had a great selection of solid color servings trays and plates.  I even scored a few on them on clearance…Yipee!  I picked out a bunch of white and turquoise trays and plates.

Then, I dug into my stash to find some washi tape that would work well on my plates.  One of the great things about a craft stash is that you almost always have something that will work already on hand!
washi tapeI just put the washi tape on the trays randomly re-positioning it until I thought it looked nice.  No exact measuring or anything complicated like that.

I even put H’s initial on one for fun.  She always loves having personalized stuff in the house so a plate for her just seemed right.

I love the way they look stacked on top of each other. It looks like they are part of a set like you’d get in the store.

Have you been using washi tape for anything recently? Do you like to entertain during the summer months?

You can find a list of the awesome parties I link up to by visiting here.

Does the washi tape stay on after you wash the trays?

You would have to remove the washi tape before washing the tray. This type of change would just allow you to quickly and inexpensively change your serving trays for each event.
