Strawberry Basil Teagarita

July 10, 2014 By Shannah Coe 24 Comments

Almost every Friday, another family and I hit the local Mexican restaurant for margaritas. Both of our schedules have changed a bit so we haven’t been able to make it there as often and have opted for food and cocktails at home instead. Jose Cuervo makes a delicious ready-to-serve margarita and they just recently introduced the Iced Teagarita. It is an yummy mix of a classic lime flavored margarita and iced tea. It is an amazingly refreshing cocktail on a hot summer night!

I have been adding fresh berries to my iced tea drinks recently so I decided to combine that new treat with the Jose Cuervo drink and make a strawberry basil Teagarita.

Oh, strawberry and basil together are so good. What a great idea to combine it a teagarita! #CuervoTeagarita #spon

Mathlete preferred the Teagarita just as it came but I loved the addition of a little berry and basil flavor. Either way, the Teagarita is definitely a new favorite in our house for ready-to-serve cocktails. We had the 750mL bottle but I will keep a look out for the larger 1.75mL bottle to have on hand now that it is being offered in wider distribution around the country.

Serving the Teagarita is easy. Just add ice to a glass and pour!

Half iced tea and half margarita...genius! Love this new idea. #CuervoTeagarita #spon

For the strawberry basil version, add the following:
– 3 Tbsp chopped fresh strawberries
– 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil or 1 Tbsp basil simple syrup

A strawberry basil teagarita is exactly what I need on a hot, summer day. #CuervoTeagarita #spon

Be sure to visit Jose Cuervo on Facebook to find out when the Teagarita will be coming to your area. Then, sit back and enjoy the delicious flavors of lime, tequila, orange liquer and iced tea.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

I’ve never been a fan of flavored teas, just sweet tea with real sugar. But I have to admit, this does look tempting.
