The Scoop on Valentine’s Day Decorating

February 7, 2014 By Shannah Coe 18 Comments

Valentine’s Day is only a week away.  How did that happen?!  I am so excited to be sharing with you my Valentine’s Day decorations as part of The Scoop’s Valentine’s Day Tour.
Large Valentine buttonBesides Christmas, I am not a huge seasonal decorator.  I may put a wreath up on the front door and add a few colorful touches but that is about it.  So, I’m sharing the scoop on inexpensive and easy Valentine’s Day decorating!

One of the biggest ways I save money on decorating is reusing items from one holiday for another.  Christmas is filled with red and gold so I find ways to reuse those items for Valentine’s Day too.  I repositioned a few things on my mantle like the large red bamboo, red vases and candles and then combined them with my Love Wins plate and heart garland.
Valentine's Day Mantle_wmI keep a red blanket thrown on the back of our family room sofa and, for Valentine’s Day, I combined it with some awesome pillows I scored at Home Goods for next to nothing!
Valentines Day Couch Pillow_wmThe rest of the house just gets little touches or red or pink using things I have or find on sale.  I put up some paper garland for a baby shower I hosted recently and it fit so perfect for Valentine’s Day that I decided to leave it there.

Thanks so much! Those paper flowers were such a score. We used them for a baby shower and then I just decided to leave them up because they felt like Valentine’s Day.

Thanks! I am not a huge decorator either so I just usually try to throw together what ever I can.

Thanks! I definitely love being able to use stuff I already have. It keeps my storage space a little more open too.

Loved the stroll through your house! I did it at a snail’s pace as I have been getting to everyone’s tour post. I am enjoying each & sharing as I go. Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks! I am actually still hitting up posts from the tour. I seem to be slow in getting to everything these days.
