A Glimpse: Movie Night #goodnightsnack #cbias

SoFab Disclosure

Mathlete and I try to make sure we take time out from our crazy schedules to spend time as a family. Sometimes this comes in the form of a Sunday morning trip to the pool for a few hours and sometimes we decide to have a family movie night. We’ll pick a movie and plan to go down to the theater area in our basement and hang out. Of course, for movie night, the snacks we choose can be just as important as what movie we are watching!

I knew we were going to have some evening rain and storms one weekend so, while I was killing some time in Walmart waiting for gymnastics to end, I decided to stroll through the movies and plan a fun, family movie night. I picked up a movie I knew would be a hit with the kids and adults too. Then, I went searching for what to snack on during the movie. I wanted something that would be a #goodnightsnack but also one I knew my kids would still see as fun. This time, I skipped the popcorn aisle and decided to check out cereal instead.

I was really tempted by the Kellogg’s® Jif™ Peanut Butter cereal because I absolutely love peanut butter. My practical side also called to me when I saw the Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® Multigrain shapes.  I ended up choosing two cereal options: one that was a little more adult centered and one I knew the kids would LOVE.

My cereal had little chocolate pieces in it which made it the perfect evening snack but was also low in fat and calories so I didn’t have to worry so much about how it would affect my waistline.

The kids’ cereal was a new version of Fruit Loops® that has little marshmallows mixed in with the cereal. The kids loved it and were picking out the marshmallows to eat them first.

The kids were begging to have the cereal for breakfast the next morning too but I think we’ll keep it as a fun, evening snack for now. It worked out great for movie night so I left it in the basement kitchen area so we’ll have it for our next movie.

Do you have a family movie night? What kind of snacks do you serve? You can find more good night snacks by searching #CollectiveBias and #goodnightsnack.
