Mom’s Payday: Spoiling Mom for More than One Day

May 20, 2013 By Shannah 3 Comments

CB-sponsored-post-white-600Mother’s Day is always a day when I {and most moms} get completely spoiled.  It starts from being able to sleep in and ends with a dinner out where I do no cooking or cleaning.   One important thing for me is that we spend the day as a family and enjoy #mealstogether.  This Mother’s Day came with a “special” gift of an knee injury for me.  Well, technically, the injury happened back in April but got really bad as May progressed.  My family totally took over on all the things that I normally do and truly made it like it was Mother’s Day all month.

One big thing I do for our household is most of the cooking.  Mathlete is awesome at so many things but kitchen duty isn’t one of them.  However, with my big, swollen knee, I haven’t been able to do as much standing and cooking as I usually do.  Mathlete and the kids jumped right in and took over.

First, they headed to the store to pick up some supplies: Tyson crispy chicken strips and some yummy sides to go along with them.

You can see more of the shopping trip and meal preparation in my Google+ album.  Once we were home, H got to work helping get the food ready for cooking so I could sit down with my knee up.
While our chicken strips cooked, I was answering emails so I also checked out the Tyson website to read up on the Mom’s PayDay sweepstakes they had going on. I mean…what would be better than having dinner made for you AND winning $10,000.  Each package has a special code inside that you enter on the website to see if you have won.  I also connected with them on twitter to be sure to keep up with any other sweepstakes they may run.

I was called to dinner and found my plate had already been made and set on the table for me too…complete with my favorite ranch dipping sauce!
I love having dinner together as a family and it tastes even better when someone else has done most of the work 🙂
After dinner, I got to back and rest some more while my family cleaned up too.  Totally spoiled and so grateful.

Does your family go all out to spoil you for Mother’s Day?  How would you spend $10,000 if you won it?

What a lovely thing they did for you. You totally deserve to be spoiled. I hope your knee heals quickly though. 🙁

My family does not spoil me for Mother’s Day, I was lucky to get a verbal recognition of the day this year. Oh well, what’s a mom to do.

If I won $10,000 I would use it towards a new house! We want to move.
