I was out shopping the other day for wrapping paper because I am so woefully behind on wrapping my gifts. Sadly, I think all the good stuff has been picked over because I couldn’t find a single one I loved. So, I bought some solid colored paper and bags and decided to personalize them and make my own glittered wrapping supplies. Plus, this way I could get the kids involved in presents for their friends! This project was so simple and my daughter really loved being to able to play with the glitter while also making gifts for her friend extra pretty.
We used a combination of mod podge and glitter to create our gifts. You could also use glue or glue dots or pretty much anything you think the glitter will stick to. For the bag, H just painted random lines of mod podge onto the front of the bag with a small paint brush. Then, we poured glitter on top of the lines and shook off the excess onto a plate. Her extra fine glitter did really well with this. Once it was dry, we did have to wipe off some of the excess that was still on the bag close to the lines. For mine, I wrapped a gift and then added circles of mod podge to the top. I poured the red tinsel glitter on top and shook off the excess. Once it was dry, I wiped off any remaining glitter that was on the paper. In just a few short minutes, we were able to create gift wrap that we loved and that was special because it had our own personal touch added to it. Oh, and another bonus, this is way cheaper because the solid colored stuff isn’t marked up for Christmas!Have you changed up any gift wrap recently? What have you been using glitter on this holiday season?
