Guess what? I am so excited to be a part of the All Things Home Fall Porch Tour for 2013.ย  The tour is sponsored in part by Hometalk and Front Porch Ideas and More!Fall Porch Tour 2013

I wish I could say my porch came together just as I imagined and that I was totally in love with it.ย  Reality: we got hit with a semi-monsoon the week I had planned to work on my porch and I couldn’t get outside to do anything.ย  The rain destroyed some of my plants and just basically made everything so wet.

Finally, on Monday, I was able to get outside and work on the porch a little bit.ย  I salvaged some of my items and borrowed a few others from neighbors to make my porch come together.ย  {A big thanks to myย  neighbors}. ย Let’s take a peek at what I was able to put together.
Front Porch with Welcome_wmI started with my trusty Ikea lanterns and filled the small ones with gourds and pumpkins. ย The larger ones got some candles and faux corn.
Close up of small fall lantern_wmInside of Lantern_wmI had purchased some mums for my porch and the rain totally did a number on them. ย I was so bummed but was determined to make them work.

    1. Thanks so much! I love that door color too. It was a total accident thanks to someone at the paint store miscolor matching but it worked out great.

  1. I think your porch looks wonderful. You’d never know that you didn’t plan it this way. I especially love the bunting above your door.

  3. Shannah, so sorry the weather was so nasty for you and destroyed some of your decor. If you hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have known. You porch looks great, and I love your idea for giving the mums height by putting the pot on top of an upturned planter. Smart!

    1. Awww…thanks! I felt like everything was just soaked. I was so worried the mums were going to die because of the rain so I didn’t want to bother actually planting them ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Girl, you are just too darn crafty! I love your porch! My idea of decorating was throwing a bunch of pumpkins from the farm into a Red Rider Wagon…….. I am the anti-Martha Stewart of anything creative.

  6. Love your fall porch…especially the gourd-filled lantern! I am so excited to be included in the tour with so many talented bloggers!…hugs…Debbie

  9. Hi Shannah! Your porch turned out beautifully despite the rain that you had! Mother Nature sure can produce some stress, right? How wonderful that your neighbors pitched in to help decorate. They must truly understand the life of a blogger!

    1. Thanks so much! I was seriously starting to worry that I was going to have to bail on the porch tour. I would have been so bummed. Thankfully, we got about a half of day of clear weather for me to work and photograph.
My neighbors are awesome! They are definitely always helping out ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks so much! That door is always a joke in our house because the color is by total accident (mis-color matched paint) but we love it.

  11. Oh sister I feel your pain. I really do. Mother Nature and her blustery nature- meaning wind ripped my stuff apart three times. I am now over it. Whatever is left will be what there is for Halloween. Your porch came out beautiful. I guess you made a compromise with Mother Nature.

    1. Oh no! Three time…I would be so over it too. Isn’t Mother Nature a real pain sometimes…always at the worst possible time?! Your porch turned out great though!

  12. First I would love to actually have fall weather (live in Houston) and second I would LOVE your front door. It is beautiful.

    1. One thing I definitely wouldn’t trade about where I live is having seasons. I love it. Thank you so much for your compliment on my door ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Such a pretty porch for the fall. Right now I’ve got it decorated for Halloween, but with a few quick switches it’ll be easy to convert to a Thanksgiving one – but you also gave me some great ideas.

    1. Thanks so much! I am thinking we’ll switch out to a Halloween theme this weekend maybe. A lot of the elements are the same so it will be easy to switch back for Thanksgiving.

    1. Thanks! This definitely came together at the last minute. I’m trying to decide if I keep it a little longer or go ahead and move to Halloween.

  16. Your porch looks wonderful. You’d never know that you had monsoon problems. Love the blue front door!

  17. You did a really good job of decorating even though you had obstacles. I love the lanterns and the way you filled them. I have always wanted corn stalks on my porch, they looks so great.

  18. WOW!!
I wish I had the creativeness to pull something like that off.
I should send you a picture of our pathetic front door and see what you could come up with.
    So beautiful!!

  19. The one this I am missing with my dream house is my cool porch like this! i love your porch! It is just MY style too!

  20. Your porch is absolutely gorgeous!! I live in Florida and it still feels like summer. Wanting some cooler weather so it will feel more like fall….love those Ikea lanterns!!

    1. Thanks! I am happy we are getting some more fall like weather. 90 degrees in October just feels wrong some how.

    1. Thanks so much! Those lanterns have been so good to have…definitely worth the Ikea investment ๐Ÿ˜‰ Aren’t those planters cool? They are actually plastic but really look like metal.
