Grilled Hot Dogs with Pineapple Jicama Salsa

Summer nights are all about getting outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather and firing up the grill to cook something delicious. We are huge fans of grilling for lunch or dinner during the summer because it combines our three favorite things: food, family and fun. Our kids love grilled hot dogs and, for the adults, we add delicious pineapple jicama salsa. 

Grilled Hot Dogs with Pineapple Jicama Salsa


This pineapple jicama salsa is the perfect topping for a freshly grilled Bar-S hot dog. I use Bar-S bacon in the salsa too for a perfect, smoky addition. Bar-S has over 35 years in the business with quite the reputation to go along with it. You can find meat products from bacon, to hot dogs, to sausages to lunchmeat and more! Ingredients for Pineapple Jicama Salsa:

1 cup diced pineapple
1/3 cup diced red onion
4 slices Bar-S bacon, cooked and crumbled
3 Tbsp lime juice
3 Tbsp cilantro, chopped

Let’s Make It:

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir to combine. Serve on top of grilled hot dogs.

While my kids tend to stick to ketchup or even just plain hot dogs, I love adding this quick salsa on top for a little added flavor. My husband likes to call them his “gourmet” hot dogs.

    It may not be summer but I am looking this grilled hotdog sandwich. The pineapple jicama salsa just brought it into a whole new level. It is a definite must-try for everyone.
