Football Food: Crab Fries

Have you ever tried crab chips? In high school, they were my absolute favorite. They combine the flavor of Old Bay crab seasoning with light and crisp potato chips. As a crab leg lover, they were hard to resist. I’ve been thinking a lot about the party we will be hosting for the big game next month and decided to change up my favorite snack a little and created these crab fries.
I know a lot of people are trying to focus on eating a little healthier now that the new year has come. These fries will totally still fit into your eating plan as they are baked instead of fried. I cut my potatoes but you could easily substitute your favorite frozen french fry if you wanted to take a little shortcut.
Ingredients for Crab Fries:
3 Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fry shape {I use this tool to make it easy}
4 Tbsp avocado oil
2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Let’s Make It:
1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with nonstick foil.
2) Toss potatoes with avocado oil. Transfer to prepared pan. Season with Old Bay, salt and pepper. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until fries are crisp and golden brown.
If you want to use frozen fries in place of fresh potatoes, cook the fries for half the stated time on the package prior to adding the seasonings.
