I am so excited to share with you my newest donut flavor as a way to highlight delicious TruMoo’s Limited Edition Chocolate Marshmallow Milk. As always, even though this post may be sponsored, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love donuts. There, I totally admitted it. No matter how much I love eating clean and enjoying all the real foods of Whole30, I still have a soft spot for a delicious donut. Of course, I am always trying to think of new donuts to try {as if Red Velvet, Eggnog and Peppermint Mocha weren’t enough}. This time, I am taking aim at one of my favorite childhood desserts and making s’mores donuts.

The idea of these s’mores donuts came about when I spotted TruMoo’s Limited Edition Chocolate Marshmallow milk. I mean, how can you NOT make something s’mores related when you see chocolate and marshmallow together like that?!

I wanted to make the donuts really simple to make so I started with cake mix. I let H help me with them and she had so much fun filling the donut pan with the batter.

Ingredients for S’mores Donuts

1 1/3 cup chocolate cake mix
1/3 cup + 2 Tbsp TruMoo chocolate marshmallow milk
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 large egg, lightly beaten
melted chocolate and graham crackers crumbs for topping
Frosting:
4 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup marshmallow cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp milk

Let’s Make It:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

2) In a large bowl, combine cake milk, milk, butter and egg. Stir gently to combine. Fill donut wells of prepared pan about 2/3 full with batter.

3) Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until done. Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes in the pan before transferring to wire cooling racks. Cool completely before frosting.

4) To prepare the frosting, combine butter and marshmallow cream in a double boiler set over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and mixture is well combined, stir in vanilla. Remove from ehat and slowly add powdered sugar. Stir in milk, by the tablespoon, as needed to reach desired frosting consistency. Frost donuts.

5) Top frosted donuts with melted chocolate and graham cracker crumbs.
