Chicken Apple Burger

Happy National Cheese Day! In honor of one of the best days of the year, I wanted to share with you one of our favorite burgers. While I always like a good beef burger, right now, I am totally in love with this chicken apple burger. It is so good, especially when topped with a slice of melted VELVEETA®.

Cheesy Chicken Apple Burger

I love using chicken for burgers because, with such a mild flavor, you have so many options of what you can add to it. I have a favorite chicken and apple sausage that I eat which inspired me to make this burger.

Chicken Apple Burger Ingredients:

1 lb ground chicken
1 tsp garlic powder
1 apple, peeled and grated
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices VELVEETA®
4 Tbsp apple butter
4 hamburger buns

Let’s Make It:

1) In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, garlic powder, grated apple, salt and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 hamburger patties. Place in refrigerator.

2) Heat grill to medium heat. Lightly oil grates. Cook burgers 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.

3) Spread apple butter on one side of each hamburger bun. Place apple chicken burger on top of the apple butter. Top with VELVEETA® and the other piece of the hamburger bun. Enjoy!
This recipe makes 4 burgers.

VELVEETA® is perfect for burgers because it melts into liquid gold. You could also shred some and mix it in with your burger meat before cooking for an extra hint of cheesiness.

What is your favorite burger? How are you planning to celebrate National Cheese Day today?

VELVEETA® lovers know it as Liquid Gold, and it has been a favorite of families since 1928. Known for its smooth, creamy texture and perfect melt, you can use VELVEETA® in a variety of recipes – and strike Liquid Gold.
