Chicken nuggets are a huge staple in my kids’ menu selections. I mean, they are 6 and 3 so chicken nuggets are their idea of “gourmet” food anyways. I don’t really mind because they are super easy and fast to prepare which makes meals on busy weeknights {or these days…busy weekends} so much easier.
I am always looking for ways to bring in new flavors or take their dinner beyond just a plate of nuggets to make dinner a little more interesting for them. Recently, Tyson introduced Cheesy Chicken Nuggets and I knew we had to try them. Combining cheese with a chicken nugget is like the ultimate thing for them. It would be like making a chicken nugget pizza…hmmm, there is an idea they would love too! In an effort to make these new chicken nuggets even more fun, I used them to create some cheesy chicken nugget kabobs.
I found these nuggets during a recent trip to Walmart to pick up a few things that someone had posted on Instagram that caught my eye. Our Walmart sometimes get food products before some of the local grocery stores so I always like to stroll through and see what catches my eye.
The chicken nuggets were in the freezer section along with the other newest flavor: spicy nuggets. I got home right before lunchtime so decided to try them out on my littles for the upcoming lunch. While the nuggets taste great in the microwave, I always prefer to bake them in the oven.
Just for fun, once they were done, I slid them onto some bamboo sticks along with some tator tots to create the cheesy nugget kabobs. Layer the kabobs on top of your favorite dipping sauce {ketchup for my littles} and add some fresh fruit for a great little lunch. As I was creating the kabob, I loved how I could actually see the cheese on top of the nugget.
The kabobs and nuggets were a huge hit. My husband missed lunch but came in a grabbed a leftover nugget. He liked them so much that he actually requested them for dinner that night. Of course, there were no complaints from my chicken nugget loving kids.

We love Tyson chicken in our house. And, of course, are 3 girls are nugget lovers so I bet their new cheesy nuggets would add a yummy new twist to the nugget obsession.

Tyson is by far our favorite brand for nuggets. We had the cheesy ones again last night for our pre-trick or treat dinner and they were a hit.

These look pretty good! Nuggets used to be a staple in my home but after a few years I think my kids burnt out on them! It’d be nice to try something new to mix it up a little.
My kids show no sign of burning out but it will be interesting to see where nuggets fit in as their tastes change.

My son is now a vegetarian, but not too long ago he would have loved these, I just know it!
HOw long ago did your son become a vegetarian? Our au pair was a vegetarian until recently.
November it will be a year! He’s 7, so he started when he was 6. He loves animals and once he made the connection that was it.

I was surprised I hadn’t seen them before either. We are usually very familiar with all Tyson nuggets.

having food on a stick is always more fun. we love kebabs. i should get these for the kids’ lunches- i found kebab skewers that will fit in a “sandwich” sized container to make lunch more fun!
Those are perfect skewers! I had to cut mine to make them shorter.
