Easy Burlap Wrapped Candles

Yesterday, I shared with you 25 amazing burlap ideas from around the web.  I love working with burlap so much so I wanted a great reference guide for things to do with it.  Today, I am back to share my own burlap project: easy burlap wrapped candles.

All three of those candles were decorated with a bunch of leftover burlap I had from prior projects.

Of course, like any good blogger, I always have a stash of different sized candles to work with too. I just picked three random sizes for this project.
Connecting the burlap to each candle is super easy. {Hence…easy burlap wrapped candles} Just measure out your burlap and cut it. Then, choose how you want to fasten it to the candle. You can use straight pins, glue, or a host of any other things. I used hot glue and just made sure I was only gluing the burlap to itself and not putting the hot glue directly onto the candle.  The one below is a different one I was working on but shows you what I mean.  After all, candles melt right?! 😉

From there, just attach anything you want to the front or simply leave the burlap in its beautiful, natural state. For mine, I had a leftover wreath pick that I used on the biggest one. Then, I put a piece of washi tape around the middle sized candle in a different color for some contrast. I loved the leaf print on my burlap ribbon so I didn’t do anything to that one.

What are some of the ways you work with burlap? Do you tend to use it in larger projects or just in small crafts? So far, I’ve done mostly small crafts like my burlap fall baskets or burlap wrapped cork board but I have my eye on some larger ones.
This post will be shared at the list of fabulous parties found here.

  1. Thanks! I’m gonna do this to add some fall to my home for my Holi-dating my home ideas. I want to make my home feel like the holiday’s and this will add just the touch that I need. I’ll be taking my discount coupon to JoAnn’s this weekend to get some burlap ribbon!

  2. So I had no idea that there was any burlap other than the typical tannish color and I don’t have candles to choose from. I need to get on the ball! These candles are super cute and introduced me to an entire new world of burlap.
