Burlap Wrapped Cork Board

July 29, 2013 By Shannah Coe 18 Comments

I love having a place to pin pictures or notes up neat my computer. I don’t love the way most cork boards look though because they are usually pretty plain.  I decided to fix that though and made a burlap wrapped cork board.

This project first came to mind when I was shopping in our Joann Fabric store recently and stumbled across some gorgeous gold dot burlap.

I found a cork board on sale at Michaels which I knew would be perfect!

I used hot glue to attach the burlap to the back of mine but it can easily be done with a staple gun or something else too.  Just pull the burlap tight around two sides across from each other first (I do top and bottom).  Then, wrap the other two making sure they are pulled tight as well.

I love the way it looks up against our navy walls {which for some really look REALLY bright in these photos}

Have you been using burlap in any projects recently?  Do you typically use a cork board to pin pictures, notes or inspiration ideas?

You can find this project shared at these great parties.

    I’m totally dying over that burlap right now! I’ve seen it used a couple times – and even saw it in the fabric store! I need to pick some up and get crafting! 🙂

      Hit the store lady and get working! I had walked by it a few times without buying but then just couldn’t resist. They had silver and hot pink too!

      Isn’t that burlap awesome?! They had it in silver and a hot pink polka dot too. I resisted the urge to buy all three and just got the gold {for now}.
      Thanks so much for visiting.

    You and your burlap, you’re inspiring me to go to Joanne’s this week to pick out some fabric. I need an inspiration board in my craft room badly and think I’ll be covering one myself this week. Thanks for the idea.

    This is a great idea. I was planning to do a board and couldn’t figure out a good way to incorporate the fabric. Printed burlap is just the thing!
