A Minnie Bow-Tique Welcome Celebration – H’s #DreamParty

July 30, 2013 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

Collective Bias DisclosureWe have a new family member in our household!  We are so excited to have Maya, our au pair, joining us for a year.  I know I briefly mentioned it last week but I wanted to share with you the welcome celebration we threw for her after she arrived!  Hailey chose a Minnie Bow-Tique #DreamParty for the theme and  we had so much fun putting it together while Maya was out playing with E.

H and I went to the store and picked out all kinds of fun Minnie Mouse party items from the Hallmark Party line and then brought them home to set up a dessert party for Maya.
Maya is primarily a vegetarian so I worked on making a summer vegetable tart.  While I cooked dinner, H and her Grammy got busy setting up all of the decorations.

H and Grammy set up a the Minnie Mouse curtains at the entrance to the party room.  They also doubled really well as a photo prop.
Even the party was really a dessert themed party, we used Minnie Mouse themed decorations for our dinner table too.  H was so excited to set the table for dinner.  She even added some cute little party favors at each place setting.

After our dinner, we all moved into the dining room for our dessert which included choices like cupcakes, brownies and cookies.
The party was so fun and such a great way to welcome our newest family member to the house!  She got to meet some of our favorite people and we got to spend more time really getting to know her!  We are more excited than ever to have her as part of our family for the next year 🙂
Want to check out more details of our party?  You can visit my Google+ album for more pictures from our shopping trip and celebration.

Are you having any celebrations or birthday parties this summer?  What is your favorite part of planning for a party?
