Yummy Snack Mix Recipe

School begins this month, and it is so hard to believe that summer break has essentially come and gone. We’ve started working through our school supply list, and I have been planning out lunches and snacks for each school day. My kids love snack mixes, so I always try to keep one or two on hand for them to pack in their lunch each day. We tend to make things like easy ranch snack mix that allows the kids to help put it together, which means they are even more likely to eat it!

This Yummy Snack Mix Recipe is the perfect thing for lunch boxes this back to school season.

One of the great things about snack mixes is that they travel really well. After we make it, I usually have the kids put them into little bags so we can quickly grab-and-go when it is lunch packing time. Ziploc® brand just introduced new Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tab, which makes getting the little ones to help with packing snacks and lunches so much easier. Plus, I know that when they get to school, they won’t need to flag down the lunch volunteer to help them get into their lunch!

Easy Ranch Snack Mix

Yummy Snack Mix Recipe Ingredients:

1 bag microwave popcorn
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 cup pretzel sticks
1 cup roasted edamame
1 cup baked cheese snacks

Let’s Make It:

1) Pop microwaveable popcorn according to package directions (mine was 2 and a half minutes). Once popping is complete, remove from microwave and toss hot popcorn with ranch dressing mix. Let cool.

2) In a large bowl, combine popcorn, pretzel sticks, edamame and cheese snacks. Toss to combine.

We usually make two batches and put them into separate Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tabs, so the kids can eat it for snacks at school and at home. I like keeping both sandwich and snack size Ziploc® brand bags handy so I can portion appropriately depending on how hungry the kids will be or how long our day is going to be.
