Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too

August 30, 2013 By Shannah Coe 75 Comments

I am terrrifffically excited about working with The Blueprint Social and Disney for this project related to “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh“.  However, all thoughts, content and opinions stated here are my own.

When my daughter was born, we decided to pick one stuffed animal for her to sleep with {~ 6 months of age}.  We knew that whatever, she/we chose would be her bedtime buddy for as long as she actually slept with bedtime buddies.  What did she pick?

Eeyore

Source

Yep, Eeyore.  And she still loves him/sleeps with him to this day so it only seemed right for my son to have a Winnie the Pooh character too.  He picked Tigger.

Clearly, the love of Winnie the Pooh and his friends runs pretty deep in our home {useless Shannah fact: my first car’s license plate was WneePooh} so saying we are excited about the release of “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” on Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack is a HUGE understatement.  So, we decided the best way to celebrate was with a smackeral of hunny and a few other snacks.Tails and Smoothie with Label

I started off our celebration snacks by making a banana honey smoothie since my kids are always over the moon about smoothies.  We combined bananas, honey, oats, milk and yogurt to create a creamy smoothie.  Drizzle it with honey to make a perfect Pooh worthy drink!

Knowing the movie also has an episode “Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too” {I may or may not have seen like 3 dozen times BEFORE I even had kids!}, I decided to complete our little treat with some Tigger tails!
Tigger Tails Up Close_wm

Want to recreate this for your viewing of the newly released Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack?  Here’s how you make each treat:
Banana Honey Smoothie
– 1 banana, peeled
– 1/4 cup milk
– 3 Tbsp + 1 tsp honey
– 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
– 1/4 cup oats
– 1 tsp cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients except the 1 tsp of honey in a blender.

Blend on low until well combined.  Pour into a glass and drizzle with the remaining 1 tsp of honey.  Serve cold.

Tigger Tails
– 8 pretzel rods
– 1/2 package of orange candy melts (or white chocolate & orange food coloring)
– 1/2 cup chocolate candy melts
– parchment paper

1)  Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.  In the microwave, melt the orange candy melts at 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring between each increment, until melted and smooth.

2)  Coat half of each pretzel rod with the orange candy and place on parchment paper.  Let sit for 10-15 minutes until the candy is hardened.

3)  In the microwave, melt the chocolate candy melts {or dipping chocolate} at 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring between each increment, until melted and smooth.  Transfer to frosting bag or ziploc bag with corner cut and create striped on top of the orange parts of the pretzel rods.  Let sit for 10-15 minutes until completely set.

Make sure you pick up your copy of “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” {available starting on August 27th} and enjoy the adorable characters and stories with your family.
