Advent calendars are HUGE for Christmas countdowns.  I do one every year and love it.  After Christmas comes, it seems like a little bit of a let down that we aren’t counting down to any other holidays.  So, last year, I decided to create a Valentine’s Day Countdown Calendar to keep up the fun of holiday countdowns.  I am re-sharing it this year because a) last year’s photos were awful and b) I want to make sure you saw it ๐Ÿ™‚

All the details for making the calendar are in the post from last year but it is so simple.  All you need is a frame (you might recognize the frame from 2012’s advent calendar), some ribbon and your choice of what you want to hang from the ribbon as your countdown pieces.  I chose little envelopes and cards because I wanted to be able to write things on the cards and open the note each day.

I used super cute mini-clothespins to hang the little notes from the ribbon.

Each day, we open up the envelopes to see what the notes inside say.  Some of just little notes like “I love your” or “You Light Up My Life” and then some, like above, have activities for us to do together as a family.  Having the the little clothespin makes it easy to hang out notes on the ribbon after that day.  We just store the envelopes in the drawer of the desk that the calendar hangs above.

I hung it on the wall the other day in preparation for February and H is so excited to start counting down again.  I’ll admit that I am pretty excited too.
