Spicy raspberry glazed meatballs are an amazing meatball appetizer recipe that is so easy because they cook in the slow cooker while you take care of all the other event prep.

I love crockpot meatball appetizers because they free up my time to make other food, clean up the house, and finish up party prep while one of the most popular party foods cooks away. These easy crockpot meatballs have a spicy sweet sauce that is so delicious too.

Spicy Raspberry Cocktail Meatballs

These crockpot appetizer meatballs have the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Plus, you can’t beat the sticky glaze that forms on them adding so much flavor with just a few ingredients.

Spicy Raspberry Glazed Meatball Ingredients

  • Cocktail Meatballs – I use the frozen ones from the store but you can use your favorite homemade recipe too. If you are using homemade, you’ll want to reduce the cooking time by 2 hours to prevent them from breaking apart.
  • Raspberry Preserves – Try to use seedless preserves if you can find them.
  • Pepper Jelly
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Soy Sauce – You can use tamari or coconut aminos here.
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Ginger

If you want to change up the flavor profile slightly, you can easily replace the raspberry preserves with something like cranberry sauce or even grape jelly. Just make sure you keep that ingredient the same consistency as a jelly or preserve. Crockpot meatball recipes, like this raspberry glazed meatball recipe, are incredibly versatile and forgiving when ingredients need to be modified.

  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped scallions if desired.

Notes

  1. I use frozen meatballs for this recipe. You can use fresh or homemade. Just reduce the cooking time.
  2. You can also make these on the stove by combining the ingredients in a large pot. Cook over medium heat until the jelly mixture is liquid. Add meatballs and reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until meatballs are heated through.
  3. To reduce the spice level, reduce or eliminate the cayenne pepper from the recipe.
  4. These meatballs can be made ahead, stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, and then reheated in the crockpot or on the stove.
