Solutions for the Lazy Coffee Junkie

May 15, 2013 By Shannah 1 Comment

Full disclosure, Staples.com provided me with this Keurig OfficePRO Coffee Brewer for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. To see the full line of Keurig brewers and K-cups, visit Staples.

I’m a coffee junkie.  If you know me, follow me on any social media or saw me at Snap!, you know that I just don’t function well without my daily latte.  I’m also a sleep junkie too though which makes getting my daily latte each morning a little difficult.

Recently, my office changed their {already turrible} parking policy making parking even harder to find when I arrive.  This did not bode well for my sleep and coffee love affairs.  So, I went searching for solutions for the lazy coffee junkie {i.e. me}!

Yep, that little baby was the start of a reform to my morning routine.

Now, you are probably thinking “why this and not any regular ole coffee maker” or “I thought you wanted a latte so why not an espresso machine” or a bunch of other similar thoughts.  There are a few basic reasons:
1)  I am the only person up in my house anywhere near the time I am making coffee.  Plus, Mathlete is only a weekend coffee drinker. So, a regular coffee maker just doesn’t make sense becuase it would end up with a lot of wasted coffee.
2)  Making a latte at home would take too long and require too much work/clean up.
3)  I hate to clean up stuff or do dishes.  {See above regarding laziness}

The Keurig basically eliminates any of those issues for me because…
1)  It makes one cup of coffee.

2)  There is almost no prep work.  You just add water {confession: I leave the water tank filled vs. filling it each time I use it} and your K-cup before pressing the button.  No measuring or anything.
Plus, it brews in a minute or less.  I can’t even get my lunch out of the fridge and into my bag in a minute.  Quick brew = more sleep for me!

3) There is practically zero clean up once it is finished. Seriously, this was my clean up.

Now, I am not going to lie…it takes some adjustment going from my vanilla latte to regular coffee each day.  I mean it comes out of the machine like this:

But, I just use my favorite brand and then add some milk and sugar and I am good to go.  Maybe one day I’ll splurge for some fancy syrups to put in it too.  Although, it is probably just easier to the flavored K-cups and add milk.  There is such a huge selection of K-cups now and they can even be found outside of the traditional grocery store in places like Staples that I know I will be able to find one that I like easily.

How do you take your coffee?  Are you like me and NEED your coffee before you do anything each morning?

    We love our Keurig and use it every day. The only thing that I don’t like is the price of the k-cups, but I guess convenience has its cost. Thanks for sharing!
