Put a Handle on It

January 7, 2013 By Shannah 8 Comments

Remember our Ikea kitchen cabinets for the basement bar?

Well, they have been installed for quite some time but missing a key piece to make them complete.  Just like Beyonce, they needed a little sparkle to know we loved them.  So, I put Mathlete to work putting the handles on them.
We started by putting painters tape on each one.

Then, using his ruler, Mathlete created the center point.

From there, he measured and created the two holes for each handle.
Before drilling, he used the level to make sure the holes were level before drilling.

Once the holes were drilled, we just screwed the handles in from the backside.

Thanks! That tv was a definite want of my husbands. The kids love it too because it can play something separate from what is on the big screen.

Using the tape to mark the holes is so smart! Thanks for the tip and they look great!

This is a great tutorial as I’ve been wanting to put handles on our kitchen cabinets for months now. The tips about using the tape and the level are awesome. Thanks!

Great tutorial! We have a dresser and a wardrobe from Ikea that have been living without handles for months now because it seemed like such a daunting task to put them on! Painters tape is such a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
