A Bright Spot in Our Guest Room

January 2, 2013 By Shannah 4 Comments

Recently, I was contacted by DecoArt about whether I would be interested in doing a project with their gloss enamels.  Let me tell you that I didn’t even stop to think about it…yes, yes, yes!  After all, I’ve never met a paint I didn’t like.

Remember that basement project we’ve been working on?  Well, it includes a {unofficial} guest room.  I didn’t want the guest room feeling like a basement room though so I’ve been working hard on adding little touches here and there to make it guest friendly.
It started with this glass carafe and glass for the bedside table.

It has the gloss enamels name written all.over.it.  I cleaned the glass with alcohol like the directions said {yes, I read the directions!}

Then, I poured my paint into a container and dipped the glass carafe into it.

For the little glass, I used a tiny paint brush and made random dots all along the bottom of it in three different colors.

Once the paint was dry, I threw it in the oven {read those directions!} to cure the paint so it would be dishwasher safe.  Now it is all ready for our first guests…

Have you made any upgrades to your guest room recently?  How do you try to make guests feel at home when visiting?
