Snack Time

June 7, 2014 By Shannah Coe Leave a Comment

Now that the weather is warm and the days are long, we spend a ton of time outdoors.  Sometimes we have a BBQ or other type of party planned but most of the time we are just hanging around watching the kids play.  After a little while, what we have for snack is usually where the conversation turns.  I am always looking for something that tastes great, is good for you and is also something the kids will eat.  On a recent, gorgeous morning, I decided that snack time would be the perfect time to introduce them to my new favorite snack bars.

After a little while of playing, the declarations of “I’m hungry” started full force.  So, I directed everyone over to our porch where I set up lots of snack bars for everyone to enjoy.

I was really excited to introduce Taste of Nature bars to my friends and family because they are REAL food. The bars are certified organic, gluten-free certified, and non-gmo project verified.  When you look at them, you can see real, nuts, fruits and grains…Nothing artificial, no fillers and no chemicals.  Plus, they are under 200 calories which is great for those of us also watching our waistline.  The snack bars are easy to find at most natural product retailers and grocery stores.  I used the store locator to find them at our local Whole Foods store.

I wanted to make trying the tasting super fun so I made up a voting board and everyone got to cast a vote of which one was their favorite.

Of course, we had several people asking if they could vote more than once because they just couldn’t decide on a favorite. In the end, the Quebec Cranberry Carnival flavor was the winner {it was my favorite too}.

After snack time was over, we went back to playing.  It was the perfect day to be outside!
