Mini Burlap Wreath for Fall

October 8, 2013 By Shannah Coe 7 Comments

What do you do when you are decorating for fall and your mantel is just missing something.  There is a giant space in the middle of your favorite mirror and you have nothing on hand that works right.  Go shopping?  Well, that would be my first inclination too BUT I had a sleeping three year old and no parental back up…oh, and an overwhelming need to get this done now!  So, I ran down to my craft area and gathered up a few random supplies to throw together a mini burlap wreath for fall.Burlap Wreath on Mirror with label_wm
You’ll probably recognize the ribbon from my fall felt leaf wreath.  The burlap I used was just a roll of burlap ribbon I had tucked away from some other project…looking back, I think it was a project that never got completed.  Oops.  Oh well, that just means I had the burlap for this project!Burlap Ribbon_wmThe little flowers were originally bought for my felt flower wreath but I abadoned them in place of the floral ring I used.  This little guy was just too small for that larger wreath but fit perfectly on the smaller size of this wreath.Burlap Wreath PickThe wreath literally took all of 10 minutes to make.  I simply wrapped my little wreath form with the burlap ribbon and secured it with hot glue.  {side note: I have a new cordless hot glue gun that I am in love with.}
Then, I folded the bottom of the floral pick up and glued it onto my wreath.Burlap Wreath Pick on Wreath_wmI added some ribbon to hang it with and we are good to go.  The wreath is just secured to the top of the mirror with a command velcro strip {another one of my craft loves} so I can easily remove it or change it out.
A quick 10 minute naptime craft that was perfect for filling the empty space.Burlap Wreath on Mirror Wide view_wmBurlap Wreath Angle View_wmBurlap Wreath on Mantel_wm

Have you thrown together any super quick crafts recently? Are you all decorated for fall?

    Sadly, I’m not decorated for fall. We did just go pumpkin picking this past weekend, so that’s a step in the right direction. We go heavy on Christmas decor, but fall and Halloween especially seem to fall by the wayside. This burlap wreath is awesome! I wish I had 1/4 your crafting talent!

      I have been slowly decorating for fall. It seems kind of pointless because I know it is almost time for Halloween but I will try to integrate the two. 🙂

      Thanks! I love how tiny it is but it fits so well where it is hanging.
