Our little family stays pretty busy! With spring activities starting soon and both kids in school, we are only getting busier. This makes getting dinner on the table a little difficult on nights when we also have something like gymnastics or Daisies. Times like those require a little help.
Many times help for me comes in the form of frozen foods. I use them either as an entire meal or as a starting point to create a larger meal.
Frozen foods got a pretty bad reputation from the early years where you might as well have eaten the box because the flavors were so bland. That is definitely not the case anymore! Many of the frozen meals available these days, like ones from Con Agra Foods brands Healthy Choice or Marie Callenders, are filled with fresh ingredients and are created by chefs who have developed inspired recipes.
Frozen meals can be great when you are craving an out of season ingredient because they offer access to produce year round! Truth: frozen vegetables and produce are awesome because they are frozen at the peak of their freshness! In fact, most go from the farmer to freezer in under 24 hours!
Even when I don’t need a quick dinner solution, I keep a selection of frozen Healthy Choice meals in our freezer so that I can take them to lunch. My absolute favorite is the Sesame Grilled Chicken!
It is super quick to heat in the microwave but have a delicious taste like I’ve ordered take out or made it fresh from scratch. Plus, the rice is filled with fresh and crisp vegetables which helps make it healthy too.

ConAgra Foods frozen meals give families access to real ingredients like crunchy, freshly cut vegetables, homemade pasta and ripe fruit year-round. Just like most people blanch veggies before freezing them – ConAgra Foods does too – to help preserve color, texture and keep them fresh!
Give it a try sometime! Marie Callender’s hearty pot pies are filled with tender meat, freshly cut vegetables and Marie’s authentic golden, flaky crust. And Healthy Choice recipes use chef-inspired ingredients like, apples instead of sugar for tart sweetness and a splash of red wine for a punch of flavor instead of added salt.
