Fill Er Up

August 3, 2011 By Shannah Leave a Comment

I mentioned here that I was participating in a meal swap with 5 other ladies.  Our actual swap took place Sunday afternoon.

A brief reminder of the plan: 6 ladies (including me) participated. We each chose 2 recipes and made a total of 6 batches per recipe.  That left each lady with 12 meals to swap with the other 5 ladies of the group. Then, we all got together and everyone got one of each recipe that was made within the group for a total of 12 meals (all different).

I had chosen my meals from Don’t Panic Dinner’s in the Freezer.

Saturday night, while the guys went out for awhile, I went over to help Shopaholic with the prep work for some of her meals.  She had also pulled her recipes from the same book!

Once Sunday afternoon rolled around, we all gathered at my house with coolers and bags to exchange.

We celebrated our success in pulling off all the prep work, cooking, packaging and freezing for the swap with an amazing cupcake.

Then, all the ladies left with their 12 meals to stock their freezer and I walked mine downstairs and filled my extra freezer up with yummy goodness to eat over the next few weeks.

A run down of what we swapped:
Chicken Cacciatore
Manicotti
Turkey Picante Pie
Orange Teriyaki Chicken
Salsa Verde Enchiladas
Chicken Rococo
Spaghetti with Sausage and Peppers
Honey-Sesame Chicken Skewers
Chicken Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Garlic
Baked Penne with Roasted Vegetables
Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie
Hamburger Stroganoff

Thanks again ladies for participating!  If you ever want to do it again, I’m game!
