Enjoying My Holiday Party

December 2, 2013 By Shannah Coe 8 Comments

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cottonelle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #CottonelleHoliday  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.”

Each year, we host a Christmas party where we invite all of our friends and family over for lots of food, drinks and fun.  It is one of my absolute favorite events of the entire year.  Of course, a ton of planning goes into putting on the party each year.  There is the menu, the invitations, purchasing the food, making the food, mixing drinks…the list goes on and on.  Once the party starts, the work isn’t done though.  One of the biggest things that tends to happen is we run out of toilet paper in at least one of our bathrooms.   This year, though, you will find me enjoying my holiday party instead of rushing around refilling toilet paper rolls!Triple Roll Packaging with Label_wmSo, I know you are thinking that there has to be bigger things to worry about when putting together a big party.  Of course, the food and drinks are a high priority but there is ALWAYS plenty of that stuff and it doesn’t need to really be refilled during the evening.  Our friends are like family so they always know where to find more food and wine!
With over 30 adults and even more kids, our bathrooms often end up looking like this though
Empty Toilet Paper Roll_wmI hear “is there anymore toilet paper” more than I hear “do you have any more napkins/chips/cups/etc.” during our party.  So, when H and I were at Target the other day, we grabbed  a 12 pack of the Cottonelle Triple Rolls to help relieve the stress of making sure the toilet paper was always available for our guests.   We had a coupon for a free box of Kleenex tissues when we purchased the 12 pack of toilet paper so I was able to get some of the other thing that we are always running out of this time of year.
IMG_20131123_101247_wmI compared the triple roll to our typical Cottonelle regular rolls and you can really see the difference
Roll Comparison with Label_wmI replaced the roll in the bathrooms that I know our guests will be using and know this will be the key to helping me enjoy my holiday party!   Just in case, I did add an extra roll to the baskets on in our bathroom but I doubt we even have to break into it!

If your bathroom is anything like mine, especially with guests visiting, Cottonelle triple rolls are for you.  Use this coupon at Target and get a free box of Kleenex tissues {the OTHER thing we are always running out of this time of year} when you buy a 12 pack of Cottonelle triple roll toilet paper {while supplies last}.

To sum up, here are my tips for enjoying your holiday party:
1)  Assume 10 people you invited but didn’t rsvp or said no will show.
2)  Assume 5 people who rsvp’d yes will cancel.
3)  Have 1 1/2 times the amount of food you actually think you need.
4)  Have double the amount of beer and wine you think you need.
5)  Paper or nice plastic plates are the way to go.  Trust me…no one cares what they are eating OFF of at a party as long as it isn’t the floor.
6)  Stock on triple roll toilet paper so you won’t spend the night refilling the roll {see coupon above for a little bonus}.
7)  If you can swing it, provide babysitters for the little ones.  You AND your guest will be much more relaxed if they aren’t constantly hearing “mommy” every 10 minutes.
8)  Stock up on water.  Someone has to drive all the other drunkards home 😉
9)  If you want an end time, specify it up front.  Otherwise, prepared for people to stay longer than you expect.
10)  Once party time starts, let everything go as it does…no stress or worry.  Enjoy yourself 🙂

What is your biggest challenge during the holiday season?  Do you constantly hear “we need more toilet paper” in your house?

I would love to be able to use the triple roll, but my toddler has a habit of stuffing the whole thing down the toilet.

Wow, that picture shows a giant difference! I feel good about the fact that we usually buy the Cottonelle triple roll now that I can see the difference illustrated like that.

We are like that too, my three kids seem to have an aversion to changing the roll, and it’s always ME who gets stuck with no paper!

With 4 bathrooms I swear there is always an empty roll of toilet paper in one of them. Definitely picking up some triple roll for my parties this year.

I am so anal about having enough TP in the house. It’s kinda funny! It has to last a long time – and the Cottonelle definitely last longer.
