Easy Back to School Snack Ideas

August 5, 2014 By Shannah Coe 17 Comments

SoFab Disclosure

My kids are total grazers. They want to eat a million snacks and then skip any actual meals. Once school starts, this gets even worse so I like to have heartier snacks than just chips and similar items ready for them. Of course, we want to make snacks fun too so I created two easy back to school snack ideas that are sure to be a hit with kids and make parents feel better about what is going in those little stomachs!

Back to School snacks that are easy and delicious! #AfterSchoolSnacks #cbias

It is really amazing the things you will find when you have 5 hours to kill away from home each week. The closest store to H’s gymnastics {where we spend 5 hours per week} is Walmart so I frequently go kill time there when there aren’t any chairs in the gymnastics waiting area. It was there that I found some fun snack ideas that would be perfect for the afternoons once we go back to school.

Pizza is a no brainer when it comes to most kids. The Bagel Bites pizzas are really good {made with real cheese and homemade sauce} and can be microwaved or cooking in the oven. I cut out fun little shapes with vegetables and had the kids decorate the pizzas with faces! I loved that they were easy to microwave too so my oldest could actually make them on her own if she wants. Anything that can she can do on her own while I am chasing down the younger one is always a HUGE help in our house.

The other thing my kids love is dipping food into stuff. We are all about making dips and pairing them with different foods. When I saw the Delimex taquitos, I knew making a dip for them would be a great way to make their snack even better. We had the beef taquitos so we made a yummy blue cheese dip {yes, my kids actually eat blue cheese!} to go along with them.

The kids loved both snacks so they will be going into our regular rotation once school starts. If you would like some more ideas for after school snacks, search #CollectiveBias and #AfterSchoolSnacks.

You can also get coupons for Bagel Bites and Delimex to use when buying your snacks at Walmart.
