{Guest Post} DIY Watercolor Notecards

August 6, 2013 By Shannah Leave a Comment

I am having so much fun sharing all these amazing bloggers with you during the month August.  Today, Fotini is going to share an awesome watercolor craft with you that is perfect for getting kids involved too.

Hey there! My name is Fotini and I blog over at Glamorous, Affordable Life! I’m
excited to fill in for Shannah while she’s spending some time with her little ones!

Today I’m going to share with you watercolor note cards! This is a
fun, inexpensive and creative project for you and the kids!

I thought it would be a lot of fun for my son to create his own “thank
you” cards to send to birthday guests. And then I thought, well I’m
going to give it a try too! So we
busted out the paper, watercolors and paint brushes! It was actually a lot of
fun playing around with different designs and colors, creating our own
one-of-a-kind pieces! We chose a design and continued it throughout the entire
length of the page. I cut each page into four to create four
postcard style “thank you” cards. You could also just cut them in half to create
the standard card style.

Once your paintings are dry, cut to desired size and write your
own little message or note! For the ones I made, I added: hello beautiful, you
make me smile, thank you and you’re wonderful! I used permanent marker and, also tried,  pen. You could even use your printer and print right on these for a more perfected look!

This is definitely a craft the kids and I will be doing again, and
I think it’s a great way for them to use their creativity and create special
pieces for those they love!

Thanks so much for letting me share this fun project on your blog Shannah J
