You’ve Been BOO-ed!

October 31, 2011 By Shannah 2 Comments

Do you BOO your neighbors?  We do!  If you don’t know what that is, don’t worry…we didn’t until just last year!  BOO-ing is when you put together a little somethin something for your neighbors and secretly drop it on their front porch with a note saying they have been BOO-ed.  It’s a great excuse to ring and run!
There are a ton of free printable options around the Internet for BOO-ing.  This year, we used the one from Dimple Prints.
What did we put in our bags?  Yummy treats for sure.
First, we picked up pretzel snaps and Hershey kisses.

We laid out the pretzel snaps and placed a Hershey kiss on top of each one.

Once we had all the kisses on top of pretzels, we placed the baking sheet in a 250 degree oven for 5-10 minutes until the kisses were very soft but not completely melted.  Then, we grabbed them out and pushed a second pretzel snap on top to create a little pretzel sandwich.  Or, a lazy woman’s chocolate dipped pretzel if you will.

The girls also contributed their cookie making skills to the project.  I’m not a big baker so I had a dough boy give me a helping hand.

The girls took turns adding ingredients and mixing the cookies.  Then, we split the dough and let them roll their own cookie balls and place them on the trays.

E supervised while gnawing on a piece of pizza crust.  Me thinks someone is teething again!

Once the cookies were cool, we added our frosting.

Into the bags went the pretzel and cookies.  Then, I stuffed the little printable sign in and we were ready to ring and run!

Happy Halloween!
