What to Cook Wednesdays: Desserts

June 22, 2011 By Shannah Leave a Comment

Have you noticed that the past WTCW posts have been themed versus an actual menu for the coming week? That’s because I’ve been struggling to keep up with my weekly menus and so, have had nothing to share!  We’ve been so busy with planning for vacation, going on vacation and recovering from the vacation that I haven’t been able to focus on my menu planning. I finally got around the finally unpacking our suitcases from the beach so I am moving in the right direction!  To put myself on report, I am promising a real WTCW post next month week. For now, it’s a theme!

I have a huge sweet tooth. So much so that I am pretty sure I don’t have just one but that all of the teeth in my mouth must be “sweet teeth”.  In honor of my (recently) deprived sweet teeth, I give you the dessert edition of WTCW!

Cake Pops, the newest sensation in the baking world, are such a great way to have a small treat that is packed with lots of sweet flavor!

Angel Food Cake is a great option for summer desserts. We usually add berries or drizzle with a topping!

Prefer a dessert that is more tart than sweet? Lemon Ice Cream Sandwiches with Blueberry Swirl to the rescue!

July 4th is approaching fast which for many people means a backyard bbq or party of some sort. Red, White and Blueberry Trifle would be the perfect ending to a July 4th get together.

Brownies are a stable on most dessert tables. No one will ever suspect the ingredients you’ve put into these Triple Chocolate Surprise brownies though.
I saw these Milky Way Pots de Creme while surfing the interwebs and they look amazing! Definitely on my “must try” list.
Knowing that dinner club will come around each month, I am always on the lookout for recipes that I can use. S’mores Cheesecake is at the top of my list to make when I get the dessert course.
