Weekly Menu Plan – WTCW #95

April 10, 2013 By Shannah 1 Comment

Whew, my friends, we have made it to Wednesday!  That means we are so close to the glorious time that is the weekend!  For a lot of people the weekend also means grocery shopping so Wednesday seems like a great day to make our weekly menu plan!

Let’s take a look at some ideas that made it into this week’s What to Cook Wedneday!

Sunday:  Few foods evoke childhood memories for me the way fried chicken does!  A pan fried chicken sandwich with avocado hash seems like  a very grown-up way to enjoy my childhood favorite.

Monday:  Our meatless Monday gets a teensy bit of meat this week in caramelized onion and bacon quiche.

Tuesday:  Braising is an awesome way to yield tender and flavorful meat.  Topping pasta with braised chicken and sausages is a delicious way to enjoy braised meat!

Wednesday:  Forget going out to dinner!  These turkey lettuce wraps look just as delicious as the P.F. Changs version and they are much healthier too!

Thursday:  When I think pasta, I don’t usually think pork as a topping.  But, this week I’m giving pasta with pulled pork a try!

Friday:  In my world, you can’t go wrong adding salsa to most dishes!  This week, grilled honey lime chicken gets a mango avocado salsa addition.

Saturday:  I love snap peas and always like to find new recipes that uses them.  I am so glad I stumbled upon sauteed shrimp with snap peas so I can add another dish to my list of snap pea ideas.

What is on your weekly menu plan this week?  Are you adding more spring like dishes in anticipation that the weather {finally} is going to warm up?  I know I find myself putting a lot less soups on my menu than before.

Oh that quiche looks wonderful! I used to love planning weekly menus until we started diets. Now I never know what to cook. We started the week with roast beef, vegetable soup and whole wheat biscuits (Hubby put leftover roast in his soup), baked chicken, and tonight I am going to attempt tomato basil soup. It’s probably our last cold day of the year so I’m going to enjoy it as long as I can. I haven’t thought past today’s menu though.
