Weekend Round-Up

This past weekend was pretty uneventful considering all of the build up to Hurricane Irene.ย We were blessed to be inย a part of the state that experienced very minimal damage and loss of power.ย That didn’t stop us from preparing and planning for the worst just in case though!
Friday was a pretty uneventful day of errands and doctors appointments (for the kids!).ย We did take a little break to play some indoor hopscotch and hang with the kiddos.
H was excited to discover she had new shoes to wear!
Saturday was stimulate the economy day!ย In the morning, we went to the sporting goods store for the Loudoun soccer event.ย H is going to play soccer this fall so she needed supplies.
Then, we went to the outlet mall to look around.ย Sadly, we bought nothing!ย After naptime, it was the hurricane party over at Junior’s house.ย Nothing like riding out a hurricane with homemade pizza, good friends and wine.
There wasn’t much eating on the part of the boys though.ย XBox called…
Nothing can pull my little man away from his food though.
We had been so ready to be stuck in side all day Sunday that the beautiful weather came as quite a shock.ย Mathlete and H went out to play some lacrosse in the yard.
And I went shopping.
Somehow, despite not being home as much as planned, our playroom actually managed to look a lot like some kind of natural disaster had struck.
Oh, and I did manage to pick up a few items for some upcoming projects. I’ll let you try and guess what they are.
I hope everyone managed to stay safe during the recent East Coast storms.ย It seems that there are still plenty of people in our area (and East Coast in general) who are without power.
