Taking a Break from Cleaning with Starbucks #DeliciousPairings

April 8, 2013 By Shannah 3 Comments

Each year, spring hits and I take a look around my house and wonder how in the word it got so messy!  Everything is in disarray and, despite have a bi-weekly maid service, the house just needs a deep cleaning.  This past weekend I decided it was time to get started on some major spring cleaning.  I had already rounded up some spring cleaning tips to help me really get motivated.  Now, it was time to put them to use.

I started with organizing as much as a I could.  Our playroom had gotten extremely messy so it seemed like the best place to start.
Once it was all organized, I felt so much better walking by it!  Of course, it wasn’t the only thing that needed organizing so I kept on moving…right to the linen closet.

After I was finished organizing, I decided to take a break before I started with cleaning the bathrooms.  I had been to Walmart earlier and gotten some coffee and treats.  While I was in the bakery, I noticed a sign that gave suggested #deliciouspairings to go with my Starbucks coffee.  I almost exclusively buy Starbucks coffee so I loved having the pairing information to help me decide on what treat to get.
I am a huge fan of apples so I wanted to see how an apple flavored treat would taste with my coffee.  So, I was all set for my coffee break to include a delicious apple turnover with the medium breakfast blend.
Just like I do with wine tasting, I tried the coffee alone and then tried the apple turnover.  After enjoying some of the turnover, I drank more of the coffee.  It was amazing to see how the apple turnover changed the taste of the coffee and made it brighter and more delicious.  It was definitely a #deliciouspairing.
Sadly, I couldn’t just sit around and enjoy my coffee and turnovers all day.  So, I finished up my treat and got ready for more spring cleaning.
What is your spring cleaning routine?  Do you take a break to reward yourself once a major part of your cleaning is completed?  Have you ever done a coffee tasting to enjoy food paired with your coffee?
