Swap Project

July 26, 2011 By Shannah 2 Comments

I’ve been working on a major project.  Well, Mathlete would claim that I have been working on too many major projects but I disagree.  This project though involves 5 other ladies, a whole bunch of food and some swapping.  Yep, we’re doing a meal swap.  The whole thing finishes up this coming Sunday when we get together and swap our meals but I thought I would come in a share some of the progress that has been over the past week.

The plan: 6 ladies + 2 recipes each = 12 meals for everyone to take home
The six of us got together and each picked two recipes to make.  Then, we each had to make 6 batches of each of our recipes…12 meals total.  Still with me?  Then, we all get together and swap meals and everyone goes home with 12 meals total.
Being the organizer, I got a first glance at what everyone was planning to make.  We have some yummy recipes such as Honey Sesame Chicken and Beef Strogonaff.  One of our ladies went the challenging route and is doing Chicken Rococo!

I’ll share some pics of the action:

OK–I’m very interested! Lots of questions…So, everyone came up with two recipes to make–and you all agree on that list? And then are they are all frozen with instructions? Love the instruction sheet!

Vanita – I’m happy to answer questions! Basically, we each went out and picked two recipes we wanted to make. We did share those recipes with the entire group so that everyone would know what to expect. Then, we have about a 2 week time period between the beginning and the actual swap to cook. At the swap, they are all frozen (the ladies will bring coolers for transport) and include those labels which include re-heating instructions. Everyone goes home with 12 meals at the end of the swap. Let me know if you want me to send you the link to the google doc folder that contains all of the recipes for this swap.
