Survive Black Friday

November 16, 2012 By Shannah 7 Comments

We go black Friday shopping every year.  I absolutely love preparing for it and then going out super early to try and pick up gifts for my family.  One of the most important parts of my black Friday shopping trip: the Black Friday survival kit.

My kit is made up of two parts: shopping lists/coupons and food.

I have a little felt bag that I keep all relevant coupons in.

I also create two lists: Store opening times and my shopping list.

I fill the food bag with stuff to keep hunger away for the hours I know I will be out shopping.  Last year, Mathlete joined me so I made sure I had stuff he would like too.  {See if you can pick which items are mine and which are his}

It all fits in my little thermal tote bag too which is great.

Do you go black Friday shopping? How do you prepare in advance?

    I love it. We go through the ads on Thanksgiving day and plan in our heads where we’re going. I think we should take a more organized approach though…at 4am the synapses in the brain are not firing all together 😉 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
    Blessings,
    Nici

    Great kit! After years of working retail I actually avoid any store on Black Friday, but I have lots of friends and family who would love this advice. I host a link party each week and would love to have your join.

    If I were to do Black Friday, this would be my ingenius plan too. I used to do this Sunday before Thanksgiving thing at the mall and once I got my groove for how to dress (and not swelter!) and keep track of everything, it was a lot of fun! I am so not into the Black Friday hoopla. I think it’s all bait and switch anyway. I went to Macy’s today and got some aamzing deals and find it hard to believe they will be any better that day!

    Oh, I love this!

    I’m still an amateur Black Friday shopper–just started last year–but am planning to go again this year with my Mamma-in-law–I’ll have to think ahead and pack like you do! Thanks for sharing!

    Awesome idea! The only time I did “hardcore” Black Friday shopping was when I was 18; I got in line overnight at Best Buy with my brother to get him a Wii when they first came out. 🙂 Other than that I usually do a bit of shopping to take advantage of a few deals, but I don’t usually stay out too long. Thanks for sharing at The Fun In Functional!
